Operations Supervisor

Our client is a progressive, growth oriented, privately-held National Third Party Dedicated Logistics provider. With an extensive, prestigious list of apparel and CPG Fortune 50, 100, and 500 companies, the company has established an aggressive strategic plan to continue to capture additional market share. Over the past 5 years of their 30 years in business, this transportation and distribution service provider has profitably controlled 20% annual growth exceeding $240M in revenue.

San Pedro, CA

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for a mass retail client in a 400,000 sq. ft. warehouse with 45 dock doors and 15+ employees annually.

Responsibilities include the following:
Develops and maintains operational plans to include all business requirements which include labor hours, production costs, KPI reporting, and meeting financial objectives
Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding both internal and external business metrics
Provides guidance and development of client SOP’s, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility and equipment needs
Experience managing of inbound and outbound loads, transload operations, invoicing, and KPI management
Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met
Coordinates activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, IT, and equipment
Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational and customer service problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Responsible for financial analysis of the operational expenses.
Interviews, hires, and manages performance of 15+ employees.
Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.

2+ years in a fast-paced warehousing cross-dock environment 3PL experience preferred
Excellent management & people skills
Experience managing at least 10 non-exempt associates
Strong tactical management experience
Background identifying deficiencies in employee productivity/performance and creating/facilitating improvement in their performance
Strong proficiency in utilizing WMS systems
Experience with developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operations and financial objectives
Development and management of profit and loss statements
